Habits

2 days of blogging in a row.  Does that mean it's a habit?  I think NOT!  Well, not yet anyway.  What it does mean is I am making an attempt...trying.  That deserves a slight round of applause right? Okay maybe I am pushing it a bit.  Now if I can just get Sue to see that I AM BLOGGING...maybe I CAN get a small round of applause.  I wonder how long it will take her to notice...hmm I wonder!

Actually I have been thinking a lot about habit(s) lately.  There are definitely good habits and then there are those that are not so good.  The dictionary defines habit as "an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary".

Searching this on a deeper level rather that a lighthearted approach of things that may seem insignificant...I wonder about the habits I have acquired. With some being "good" and some "not so good",  are they worthwhile, promoting or allowing growth in a spiritual manner?  Do they propel me on a daily basis towards a greater goal? Are there some habit that have become "almost involuntary" that need to be discarded and removed permanently from my life?

Maybe what needs to be defined here is...what habits do I want in my life that will get me to where I want to be and promote a desire to add more habits that will become "almost involuntary"?  A list may look something like this...

>  Daily personal prayer

>  Daily personal scripture study

>  Daily see the "good" in those I associate with

>  Daily make someone smile

I am sure that there are many others I could add, but does a long list make the quest better?  I don't think so.  Adding to the list once these have become "almost involuntary" seems a smarter approach.  I am already pretty good with some of these, but pretty good does not cut it...I need to make them a solid habit.

And so it begins...the quest for HABITS!

I'm Back...

Almost 3 years??? Really??? Well I can't do anything about that, so I will just leave it as...I have been in a fog for the longest time and now that fog is lifting.
Suffice it to say...Jared and Josh returned home from their missions went back to BYU Idaho. Each met young women and married in the temple. Josh is now...Josh and Angie and Jared is now Jared and Melanie.
Tara had a baby girl on November 22, 2009....Claire McKenzie Griggs is the apple of grandma and grandpa's eye. She is turning two next month and is talking non stop. Her red hair is as bright as her smile.
Josh graduated from BYUI in July of this year and was recruited by the Navy. He will be in Naval intelligence as a linguist. We are excited for his adventures...and the BIG adventure starts in April when he will become a Daddy. Angie is pregnant and due April 1. No foolin'!
Rick went back to school and is almost finished with his MBA at Sonoma State. WooHoo!
So that is the update in a nutshell. Hmm is that all that has happended in almost 3 years??? Well I am sure more will find there way into to future posts...but for now, that's all!
I am wondering if Sue will read this and fall over dead that I updated my blog...more on that later!
